Penn State Abington is seeking candidates for the full-time position of Head Women’s Basketball Coach/Coordinator of Athletic Facilities. This position will report to the Director of Athletics, Intramurals and Recreation and will be responsible for leading all facets of the women’s basketball program as well as coordinating the scheduling of all athletic building events and operations in support of the mission and core values of the University. The Head Women’s Basketball Coach/Coordinator of Athletic Facilities will be required to adhere to all University rules and regulations as well as those established by the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) and NCAA. Penn State Abington is a member of the NCAA at the Division III level. Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree or higher plus three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred. Related experience, preferably in a college/university environment. CPR/AED and First Aid certification required; training available upon hiring. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate and work collaboratively with a variety of individuals; college community including faculty, students, staff, parents, alumni, members of media, etc. Ability to simultaneously function in a service and team oriented environment and work independently. Ability to work under pressure, to prioritize multiple projects, and attend to details. Must have flexibility to work evenings, weekends, travel with team and holidays. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks. This is a fixed-term appointment funded through June 30, 2017 with excellent possibility of re-funding. This is an 83.3% full-time equivalency (FTE) job. Will work from August through May each year.
