Provide strong leadership for the basketball team.
Develop and implement an effective plan of supervision and safety of the team in all areas of student life including the team living environment, travel, conditioning, practice and all other team and individual activities both on and off campus.
Recruit prospective student athletes who will strive for academic and athletic excellence and who will serve as ambassadors of the college.
Implement an effective academic plan that will ensure that all student athletes have the opportunity to graduate and/or transfer to a four year institution.
Serve as the primary team academic advisor, schedule study halls and other related academic support. Monitor the academic progress of each student athlete.
Coordinate and promote staff and team participation in community service and public relation activities.
Comply with all institutional, state and national guidelines related to athletics including eligibility, recruiting and scholarships.
Comply with all institutional administrative guidelines for purchasing, travel, accident/injury, leave time, fundraising and facility use. Maintain the safety and supervision of team related facilities including the gym, locker rooms and weight room. Develop game, scrimmage and team travel schedules.
Select and supervise assistant coaches, statisticians, score keepers, clock operators and other related team and game operations staff.
Manage the program budget and maintain inventory of equipment, supplies and uniforms.
Organize basketball camps, clinics and fundraising activities.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.
