Storm King School Opening for Girl’s Basketball Coach and Faculty Member 

The Storm King School is an 8-12, co-educational, college preparatory boarding/day school of 175 students. Our students come from throughout the US and 25 different countries. We are located in the spectacular Hudson Highlands, overlooking the Hudson River and surrounded by 6000 acres of green space made up of Black Rock Forest and Storm King State Park.

Girl’s Basketball: Two years ago, after many years playing in the Hudson Valley Athletic League (Class D), Storm King moved the Girl’s basketball team to the NEPSAC AA Class. The team has been coached by an alumnus who is stepping down at the end of the year. We are looking for a coach who can join our school faculty and help continue to develop the team in the years ahead.

Primary Job Responsibilities: Our faculty members typically teach, coach and support the residential program. In hiring a girls basketball coach, we are seeking someone who can lead the team and support the school in other ways. This would include residing and doing duty in a dormitory, teaching and/or supporting our Dean’s office depending on experience. Teaching areas might include history, English or ESL, or mathematics. Beyond coaching and residential duty, a candidate’s experience will help us determine what other responsibilities might be included.

Minimum qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree is required. Experience playing basketball at the college level and some coaching is a priority. Teaching, camp counseling, and other experiences working with young people are also important. Salary Range: $40,000-$55,000
