| Description: | The College of the Redwoods Athletic Department is currently seeking a part-time instructor to serve in the position of Head Women’s Basketball Coach. Redwoods is a member of the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA). The CCCAA basketball season begins annually with a pre-season practice session the first week of fall semester, followed by a competition season which runs through March. In addition to its CCCAA affiliation, CR is a member of the Golden Valley Conference, which includes the following institutions: Shasta College, College of the Siskiyous, Butte College, Feather River College, Lake Tahoe Community College and Lassen College. The in-season practice/class-meeting schedule allows for daily two-hour sessions Monday-Friday, excluding contest dates. Responsibilities include directing all phases of a community college basketball program. Specific duties include but are not limited to: planning & coaching conditioning program, practices & games; coordinating game schedule; arranging team travel & accommodations; recruiting quality student athletes; demonstrating knowledge & understanding of CCCAA & conference rules. Extra teaching may be available based on qualifications. Qualifications: AA Degree OR Bachelor’s degree and experience coaching high school and/or collegiate basketball. |
