The Head Coach is responsible for the development and maintenance of an effective and competitive NCAA Division III Women’s Basketball program. The recruitment and retention of quality students in this program will be integral to this position. This position is expected to demonstrate the ability to be able to promote the growth of student athlete’s physical, intellectual and social behaviors. The Head Coach is responsible for directing all aspects of their assigned sport program. This position also will have a secondary duty in Athletics, and will also service the University in that additional administrative capacity. Responsibilities: Organizes and conducts all practices and game preparations. Manages all phases of the women’s basketball program including coaching, recruiting, and public relations, and conducting camps in this sport. Supports sport program, departmental, and institutional fundraising efforts. Follows all rules and guidelines set forth by the NCAA Division III, CCIW (College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin), Carroll University, Carroll University Athletics policies an procedures. Understands and complies with the NCAA Division III, CCIW, and Carroll University philosophy and mission. Acts as a professional and positive representative of the Carroll University Educational Experience. Serves as counselor, teacher, and role model so that student athletes will improve upon their physical, intellectual, and social behaviors. Maximizes the physical talent of the team through quality coaching/teaching of appropriate skills needed to be successful in that sport, and promotion of teamwork. Recruits and retains quality student athletes, and works with the Office of Admission to maximize enrollment. Maintains, manages, and updates equipment. Assists with the management and maintenance of all game and practice facilities used by the team. Performs the duties of the assigned second assignment within athletics. Performs other duties as assigned.
