Long Beach State is seeking a Head Coach for its Division I Women’s Basketball program. This position is responsible for leading all phases of the program in accordance with National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I, Big West Conference, and University rules, regulations and policies.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: evaluating, recruiting, training and coaching student-athletes; monitoring student-athlete academic progress; hiring and supervision of assistant coaches and staff; developing a competitive schedule; scheduling and conducting practice sessions; preparing and managing the budget; implementing strategies for developing and motivating student-athletes to perform at maximum levels; cultivating and maintaining effective relationships with students, parents, faculty, staff, media, and friends of the university; and playing a leadership role in fundraising for the program, department, and University. Candidates should have experience leading individuals in a team setting and developing a team culture that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to create an atmosphere for student-success, equity, diversity and NCAA compliance. Shall conduct the women’s basketball program in accordance with all NCAA rules, including attendance at compliance meetings, appropriate record keeping for recruiting and playing/practice seasons, monitoring eligibility of student-athletes in the program, successfully completing the annual NCAA certification test, and assisting in the education of student-athletes and subordinate staff about NCAA rules. Effectively perform coaching and other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics or Senior Women’s Administrator.
