The California Institute of Technology in beautiful Pasadena, California welcomes applications for the position of Head Coach of Women’s Basketball. Caltech is a member of NCAA Division III and founding member of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC). It is a dynamic time at Caltech, the #1 ranked University in the World, with a rigorous and intense focus on STEM fields, as we seek to build our athletic experience to match the academic success of the rest of the Institute. The tide is rising! The Head Coach is responsible for administering all aspects of the women’s basketball program including: coaching, recruiting, meet scheduling, supervision of personnel, community engagement, committee participation, budget management, compliance with NCAA, and conference rules/regulations. The head coach will teach in the physical education curriculum and participate as a collaborative member of the department and college community. This full time twelve month coaching position, with fantastic benefits, is an integral part of the team of student centered educators in the Department of Athletics, Physical Education and Recreation. Anticipated starting salary range is $55,000-$65,000. The basic qualifications include: a 4 year undergraduate degree; organized basketball coaching experience; Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills; Strong computing skills including database manipulation, email and calendar savvy; the ability to teach through use of images and emerging technologies; passion for life-long learning; CPR/AED and first aid certification. Additional preferred qualifications include: Master’s degree; personal collegiate playing experience; Coaching at the collegiate level.
