Bethany Lutheran College, a Christian, coeducational, residential liberal arts college owned and operated by the Evangelical Lutheran Synod, invites applications for Head Coach of the women’s basketball program, a part-time, 12-month professional staff position. The possibility for full-time employment exists dependent upon the qualifications of the successful candidate.
The Department of Athletics seeks a candidate who will recruit, lead, encourage, and support students involved in the women’s basketball program within the guidelines and mission of Bethany Lutheran College, UMAC, and NCAA.
Under the direction of the Director of Athletics, the Head Women’s Coach is responsible for the direction, instruction, supervision, and coaching of the women’s basketball program and the oversight and development of assistant coaches. Responsibilities also include overall administration of the program including, but not limited to, compliance with all NCAA regulations, adherence to College standards, budget management, academic support, scheduling, and recruitment of qualified student-athletes.
The candidate should have:
• successful experience as a head coach or substantial experience as an assistant coach
• previous coaching and recruiting experience at the NCAA Division III level is desirable
• a bachelor’s degree; master’s preferred
The successful candidate must also pass the NCAA certification examination on an annual basis and adhere to all rules and regulations of Bethany Lutheran College, the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference, and the NCAA III.
