Primary Function: The Head Coach provides leadership and organization for all aspects of the women’s basketball program, including monitoring both the academic and social development of the student-athletes; observing, evaluating and recruiting student-athletes; developing a schedule for competition; and directing Assistant Coaching staff. The Head Coach is responsible for following the University’s coaching guidelines and expectations including the rules and regulations of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) Conference. This position would recruit in 2015-16 opening play in 2016-2017 school year.

Qualifications/Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• College coaching experience preferred.
• Two (2) years successful competitive coaching experience required; coaching experience at the collegiate level preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge and ability to teach techniques associated with sport.
• Demonstrated leadership qualities and the ability to represent the interests of the University in a professional manner.
• Excellent oral and interpersonal communication skills required.
• Ability to supervise assigned staff.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
• Ability to motivate and contribute to building a positive and productive team.
• Requires the ability to maintain strict level of confidentiality in the handling of students and health information.
• Ability to travel and work a varying schedule to meet competition and recruiting needs.
• Ability to lift over 50 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record to be insured by the University’s insurance carrier.
