Description:

The Head Women’s Basketball Coach will be responsible for the direction of a NCAA Division 1 basketball program and the coaching functions related to the sport of women’s basketball.
First and foremost this position is responsible to help mold young people into officers of character and integrity that will lead this nation’s Air Force into the future. Everyone at the Academy is responsible to follow the institution’s core value of Integrity First, Service Before Self, and Excellence in All We Do. Other duties include the ability to coach and develop athletes to achieve success on the court and in the classroom; comply with NCAA, Mountain West Conference, and institution rules and regulations; provide effective management of games and practices; recruit cadet athletes of the highest character, assist in fundraising; manage budget; supervise and communicate well with staff; communicate with alumni and administration; organize and manage camps and clinics; establish a strong working relationship with the Academy and surrounding community; and perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
An earned bachelor’s degree is required and a master’s preferred; 3-5 years coaching experience equivalent to Division 1, intercollegiate experience preferred; demonstrated ability and success in teaching the skills and fundamentals of the sport; excellent written and verbal communication skills; proven leadership and management ability; aptitude to organize and motivate cadet-athletes to maximum performance level in sports; possess academic achievements; proven experience in recruiting highly motivated and qualified cadet-athletes; and budget management experience. All academy employees are expected to demonstrate excellence in interpersonal behaviors and be committed to effective collaboration with colleagues.
