Internship Description
Fresno State Athletics Department is accepting applications for one full-time, 12-month (September – September) internship for Women’s Basketball. This internship position is designed to expose the intern to, and develop skills in all aspects of operations and administration for the Women’s Basketball program while observing the principles of the Athletic Department’s Mission Statement and its policies and procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the university, the Mountain West Conference and the NCAA. During these internships, the individuals will gain an understanding of the philosophy and objectives of an intercollegiate athletics program.
General Assignment
Under the direction of the Head Women’s Basketball Coach, the intern will provide assistance in operations and administration for the California State University, Fresno Women’s Basketball team while observing the principles of the Athletic Department’s Mission Statement and its policies and procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the university, the Mountain West Conference and the NCAA. The internship will assist with all facets of the day-to-day administrative aspects of the Women’s Basketball program. This includes the coordination of business operations (reimbursements, travel applications, direct pays, etc), communication with on and off campus personnel, scheduling of necessary facility needs, and event coordination activities. The intern will assist with maintaining and organization of the program’s databases used for recruiting, alumni, and other necessary contacts. The intern will also assist with the administrative aspects of the recruiting process, including the mailing of recruiting information, planning campus visits of the prospective student-athletes and other necessary duties. All assignments will be limited as per NCAA rules and regulations. The intern will complete daily administrative paperwork for the program and attend departmental meetings.
