North Park University, a member of the nationally recognized College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin, would like to announce that applications are now being accepted for the position of Women’s Basketball – Graduate Assistant.  The assistantship will begin in summer 2019 and includes tuition remission, a meal plan, and an annual stipend.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist program with all phases of competitive NCAA and CCIW compliant recruiting as assigned by the head coach; attend high school, AAU and junior college basketball games and tournaments as assigned; visit high schools to meet with basketball recruits; consistently communicate with recruits via phone, email, and mailings.
• Coach a particular basketball specialty, organize (in conjunction with the coaching staff) standard practices and help develop individual players in those positions.
• Execute game day preparation in conjunction with the coaching staff; analyze game performance primarily in the specialty area with players in designated positions.
• Assist with Film Exchange and Scouting Reports as assigned by the coaching staff.
• Assist with monitoring the academic progress of all the players on the team.
• Assist with basketball organizational and administrative needs.
• Complete other duties as assigned by the head basketball coach, associate athletic directors, and the athletic director.

QUALIFICATIONS

• A bachelor’s degree is required.
• Applicant must obtain acceptance in North Park University graduate program and have a personal commitment to North Park’s mission of Christian higher education.
• Coaching experience or basketball experience and extensive knowledge of the sport of basketball at the intercollegiate level is required.
• Able to work a schedule appropriate to coaching a team (i.e. days, nights, and weekends).
• Able to lift and move athletic equipment.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
