North Central College (Naperville, IL) is seeking graduate assistant.  Reporting to the head coach and the director of athletics, the graduate assistant is a ten-month position starting in Fall 2021.  The position requires weekend and evening work, including team travel.

Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Coach a particular specialty area as assigned by the head coach
• Assist in the recruitment of a diverse group of qualified student-athletes for successful participation in the sport
• Assist with monitoring the academic progress of each student-athlete on the team
• Plan and execute practice and game/competition plans according to the head coach and coaching staff
• Maintain compliance with institutional, CCIW, and NCAA policies, rules and regulations
• Develop and implement an on-going professional development plan as it relates to the sport in general,

recruiting, and specialty areas

• Additional responsibilities may be included, as assigned by the head coach or athletic administration.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and acceptance into graduate school at North Central College is required.  The preferred candidate will have demonstrated success and knowledge in playing sports at the collegiate level; recruiting; general knowledge of NCAA rules; and excellent communication and organizational skills.  Compensation for this position will be offered as tuition remission and a stipend.  The successful candidate will be subject to a background check and driving records check as a condition of employment.
