This is a non-coaching academic appointed position on the Women’s Basketball Staff. The Graduate Assistant will assist in all aspects of a BCS women’s collegiate basketball program. Specific responsibilities include being a liaison with various support staffs in the athletic department, most notably sports information and marketing; assisting with video breakdown and analysis, and with team travel. Additional duties include assisting with practice preparation, game day preparation, equipment management, player and staff locker room maintenance, supervision of managers and male practice players, quality control (copying, mailing, etc.); and other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a related field and be accepted into one of Indiana University’s Graduate School programs on the Bloomington campus for the upcoming 2016-2017 academic year and enrolled in a minimum of 9 credits. Other qualifications include excellent organizational and time management skills, a basic understanding of NCAA rules and regulations, and a desire toward a future in coaching. Preferred Experience: Candidates should be organized, punctual and attentive to detail and possess enthusiasm, excellent oral and written communication skills, a solid work ethic, and a commitment to following Big Ten and NCAA rules. Compensation: This is a 10-month appointment in accordance with the academic calendar year August 2016-May 2017 and August 2017- May 2018. Compensation includes a monthly stipend, graduate tuition remission for 9-12 credit hours each fall and spring semester, and student health insurance.
