The graduate assistant coach position provides leadership and assists in the overall coaching, management and administration of the women’s basketball program. There is a high level of involvement and responsibility given to this position. Candidates for this position should have a desire to one day be a head coach and are interested in gaining insight/experience in ALL areas of a collegiate women’s basketball program.

Responsibilities include:

• Program Organization and Administration
  • Academic Assistance: Weekly Check-In’s & Study Table Liaison
  • Program calendar and scheduling point of contact
  • Assist in Concordia Football Game-Day Operations at Home Games
  • Facilitate Ordering and Design of all team gear and team stores
• Recruiting Assistance
  • Main point of contact for portion of recruits
  • Assist with on-campus and off-campus recruit experiences
  • Travel/attend spring & summer AAU events, as well as high school & Junior College games in fall/winter.
  • Assist in maintaining recruit database and questionnaire systems
• Scouting/Opponent Preparation
  • Lead coach on portion of season scouts
  • Ability to utilize JustPlay resources to complete scout preparation
  • Ability to utilize SynergySports software to complete scout preparation
  • Ability to recognize opponent tendencies, schemes, and personnel as deemed fit to help prepare team for success in upcoming games
  • Ability to lead film sessions and on-court walk throughs
• On-Court Responsibilities
  • Willingness/ability to lead small group skill sessions
  • Willingness/ability to be vocal and take ownership of practice and positional success
• Practice and Game Day Preparation
  • Ensuring court, film room, etc. are prepared prior to the start of practice, etc. (clock, film software, team equipment)
  • Ensuring all aspects of WBB program are prepared for game day both home and away
    • Home: Pass list, team meals, uniforms, etc.
    • Away: Team travel equipment, team meals, team uniforms, etc.
• Off-Season/Summer Camp & Fundraising Assistance
• Head Coach for Concordia JV Team
• Adhere to NAIA and WHAC regulations
