Carthage College, a NCAA Division III member of the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW), is seeking qualified applicants for the Women’s Basketball Graduate Assistant position.  The position can be a one-year or two-year track. Available programs include Master of Education (M.Ed.) – Sports Leadership in Education; Master of Science in Business – Design & Innovation Track; or Master of Science in Business – Sports Management Track.

DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: The Women’s Basketball Graduate Assistant will assist the Head Coach with day to day operations of the women’s basketball program. Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  1. Assist in providing individual skill development, instruction, and practice planning. 2. Assist with scouting, film breakdown, and game preparation.
  2. Assist with the evaluation, recruitment, and retention of student-athletes.
  3. Assist with monitoring student-athlete academic progress and ensure compliance with NCAA, College, and CCIW regulations.
  4. Assist with social media management/content creation, engage in various fundraising projects, and organization of travel logistics.
  5. Assist with planning and organization of summer camps.
  6. Contribute and collaborate within the overall athletic department.
  7. Other administrative duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: A bachelor’s degree is required. Admission into Carthage College’s graduate program is required. Previous experience playing and/or coaching basketball. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail, self-starter, and ambition to coach at the collegiate level. CPR/AED/First Aid Certification. Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record required.
