The Women’s Basketball Graduate Assistant is responsible for assisting the coaching staff, primarily with recruiting, making travel arrangements & itineraries, assisting with practices, fundraising, promotional activities, and other related assigned responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Candidate will be a positive role model for our student-athletes.
• Will monitor and assist student-athletes with academic success.
• Effective in recruiting quality student-athletes.
• Assist the coaching staff with any/all aspects of the program.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

• Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
• Ability to effectively manage time and priorities.
• Ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal) with a variety of individuals.
• Strong critical thinking skills.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office or similar products.
• Organizational ability, and attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Ability to work evenings or weekends as needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Moderate to strenuous physical activity is part of the position.
• Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree and acceptance into the Black Hills State University graduate school program is required.
• Experience in basketball is required.
• Must have an acceptable driving record.
