Assist the head coach in the planning, organization, and administration of the Women’s Basketball program. This is a 10 month position with graduate class allowance – a 2 year term.
Job Responsibilities: – Adhere to all NCAA, conference, and institutional guidelines, policies, and rules
– Demonstrate leadership and professional behavior when dealing with student-athletes
– Maintain positive constructive working relationships with student-athletes, athletics department coaches and staff, and all members of the College community
– Take a sincere interest in the personal, academic, and athletic development of the student-athletes
– Exhibit loyal, supportive, and cooperative behavior to the head coach, the women’s basketball program, and the College
– At all times promote the Women’s basketball program in a positive way to the College community, to the community outside the College, to high school coaches, and to recruits
– Recruiting
o Use of ACS recruiting system to maintain the recruiting databases
o Corresponding with recruits via mailings, phone calls and emails
o Scheduling and setting up recruit visits
o Attending off campus recruiting events
o Attending high school games and showcase tournaments
– Basketball Team Management support
o Assist in practice planning, organization, and on-the-floor coaching
o Assist in scouting and game preparations. Film breakdown and create scouting reports
o Game day duties
o Assist Equip. Mgr in the inventory and care of uniforms and team equipment
– Supervise and Coordinate fundraising activities for the program
– Oversee academic and athletic development of the student-athletes
– Other administrative tasks as assigned by department
Education / Experience: Bachelor’s degree required. Acceptance into a St John Fisher College graduate program is a requirement. Basketball knowledge required and collegiate playing experience desired. 36 hours paid towards your masters degree
Competencies / Skills: Ability to demonstrate basketball related skills, interpersonal skills between students, staff, alumni and friends of the College

Physical and Mental Demands: Physical Demands:
Must be able to demonstrate basketball related techniques. The job entails normal sitting, standing and walking throughout the course of the day.
Mental Demands:
Must be able to work in loud environment and keep mental concentration associated with events. Maintain professional attitude and demeanor in difficult situations. Position must have the ability to multi-task in a very busy environment
Work Environment: Well lighted, well ventilated pleasant work area. Work with students and accompany team when traveling. Head Coach will be understanding with grad class schedule.
Equipment to be Used: Must be able to be proficient in word, excel and able to learn other basketball related computer programs (I-Movie for game film breakdown, and ACS recruiting system to track recruits thru process). Equipment related to sport.
Work Hours: Non-exempt 10 month position, minimum of 22 and a maximum of 40 hours per week. Contract value of $11,000 Flexible schedule is required, including evenings and weekends.
