Position Summary

The Director of Women’s Basketball Operations will support the Head Coach, Women’s Basketball in overseeing all administrative aspects of the Women’s Basketball program including, but not limited to team travel, scheduling, and budgeting in accordance with NCAA, American Athletic Conference, and University rules and regulations. Under the direct supervision of the Head Coach, the Director of Women’s Basketball Operations will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of Women’s Basketball operations for The University of Tulsa.

Characteristic Duties

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinates all aspects of team travel
  • Coordinates all aspects of prospective student-athlete official visits, coaches recruiting travel, recruiting weekends, and overall recruiting coordination
  • Coordinates and implements summer camp program
  • Oversees and coordinates undergraduate student managers and equipment services
  • Works in conjunction with Academic and Compliance units ensuring NCAA compliance and student- athlete eligibility for the women’s basketball team
  • Assists with day-to-day basketball activities allowed per NCAA rules
  • Assists in briefing student-athletes and monitors adherence to all rules and guidelines
  • Maintains compliance in regard to all NCAA and American Athletic Conference rules and regulations
  • Establishes a productive, well-rounded environment which stresses the importance of academics in conjunction with athletics
  • Establishes a professional relationship with students, staff, alumni and the general public in an effort to promote the university and its athletics program
  • Supports the student-athlete concept and demonstrates concern for the health, safety, and welfare of each student-athlete
  • Works cooperatively and responsibly with other departmental personnel
  • Other duties as assigned by Head Women’s Basketball Coach

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree; directly related work experience in athletics administration, basketball operations and/or coaching/playing basketball at a highly competitive level

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree; 1-2 years of experience in women’s basketball operations
