Description: | Organizes and manages logistics and various supplemental aspects in connection to the basketball program/office. Responsible for facilitating communication between administration, support staff, players, trainers, coaches, etc. Recruiting prospective-student athletes and families while in compliance with NCAA bylaws and other policies set forth by the institution. Provide a high energy and well-rounded relationship with all university employees and those involved with the common goals of developing high character student athletes. Primary Duties and Responsibilities 1. Organizes and communicates recruiting needs in consultation with Head Coach. Partners with coaching staff to coordinate and facilitate the annual recruiting strategy. Manages current personnel and future personnel needs with the Head Coach and coaching staff. 2. Organizes and processes all team travel for home and away competition, including hotels, transportation, meals, accountability for all party members associated with the travel. 3. Maintain and assist current players with daily issues that arise, while having a sense of urgency to complete multiple detailed task at any given moment. 4. Serves as liaison to the compliance office for the admissions process for potential student-athletes. Organizes and coordinates contact and evaluation of off campus visits by coaching staff in accordance with NCAA rules. Organizes and coordinates coaches telephone call plan and yearly/daily calendar or schedule for all members associated with the program. 5. Responsible for all NCAA, Conference USA and USM compliance paper work as it related to recruiting. 6. Organizes and coordinates all official and unofficial visits, and game day visits. 7. Tracks, collects High School prospect transcripts and SAT/ACT test scores for purpose of eligibility. Assists in providing NCAA interpretation related to recruiting rules. Coordinates National Letter of Intent/SEC Tender signing day. 8. Organizes and oversees the purchase of recruiting services, recruiting database, and high school relations. 9. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business, education, sport management, or other related field. One or two years relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with a collegiate level sport program.
