The Coordinator of Athletics Events / Head Women’s Basketball Coach is a full-time position in the Department of Athletics.  The position reports to the Director of Athletics / Assistant Director of Athletics.  The Coordinator of Athletics Events / Head Women’s Basketball Coach is sensitive to the needs of a diverse student body and is committed to assisting the Department of Athletics in enhancing and supporting the student development experience consistent with the mission of a Sinsinawa Dominican Catholic liberal arts university.

JOB COMPONENTS/PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Coordinator of Athletics Events is responsible for but not limited to:
  1. adhering to Dominican University and Department of Athletics rules and regulations;
  2. coordinating Event Management for all home athletic events, including regular season, conference tournament and NCAA Tournament contests;
  3. training event management personnel;
  4. coordinating event set-up;
  5. coordinating the distribution and collection of contracts for Department of Athletics’ competitions;
  6. assisting in composing bids for hosting of national tournament events;
  7. overseeing the conduct foul reporting process from the university to the conference office;
  8. assisting with the department events (golf outing, homecoming);
  9. accepting and fulfilling other duties as assigned.
The Head Women’s Basketball Coach is responsible for the oversight and coordination of the women’s basketball team including but not limited to:
  1. adhering to NCAA, conference and Dominican University rules and regulations;
  2. directing and overseeing respective assistant coaching staff;
  3. identifying and recruiting academically and athletically qualified candidates to maintain roster range;
  4. managing the operating budget and agency account for respective program;
  5. developing competitive schedule;
  6. monitoring student-athletes’ academic performance;
  7. coordinating team travel and meals;
  8. coordinating team transportation needs with Director of Athletics and Assistant Director of Athletics;
  9. working with NACC official assignor and process appropriate paperwork for compensation;
  10. coordinating the purchase, distribution, collection and inventory of team uniforms, equipment and supplies;
  11. coordinating respective team fundraising.
Perform other duties as requested, delegated or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Familiarity with NCAA Division III Rules and Regulations
  • Experience and competence in various computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.
  • Strong organizational and written skills
  • Ability to function in growing environment

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree in related field preferred.
  • Previous coaching experience required, collegiate coaching experience preferred.
A background screening is required.
