Description: | BASIC FUNCTION: Assist with the organization and administration of the women’s basketball program, including the following: recruiting, scouting, practice, game coaching and public relations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Coordinate and assist head coach with the recruiting of Division I student-athletes. Assist head coach with practice and game coaching and the evaluation of player performance. Assist head coach in scouting opponents and in preparation of game plans. Coordinate and assist head coach with individual player development. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Comply with all NCAA, University and Atlantic 10 Conference policies and regulations. Perform other duties as required. REQUIRED: 1. Bachelor’s degree. 2. Minimum of three years’ experience coaching collegiate basketball. 3. Demonstrated collegiate basketball playing experience. 4. Demonstrated organizational skills. 5. Demonstrated strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills. 6. Demonstrated proficiency in written communications skills. 7. Demonstrated leadership skills. 8. Demonstrated ability to relate to women student-athletes. 9. Demonstrated adherence to the University, NCAA, and Atlantic 10 Conference rules and regulations. 10. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups/populations. 11. Appointment subject to NCAA and Conference violation report clearance and NCAA Rules Certificate. PREFERRED: 1. Demonstrated Head coaching experience at the collegiate level. 2. Demonstrated Atlantic 10 Conference coaching experience. 3. Demonstrated NCAA tournament coaching experience. 4. Demonstrated experience developing individual players. 5. Demonstrated Recruiting Coordinator experience. |
