The Women’s Basketball Assistant Coach is responsible for assisting the Head Women’s Basketball Coach in coaching highly competitive NJCAA women’s basketball program, recruiting student athletes, assisting in coordinating practices and activity travel, and promoting events and activities.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Recruitment of basketball scholarship student-athletes as follows: Evaluates talent throughout the year and coordinates a communication plan with prospects; Replies to recruiting correspondence; Knowledgeable of the Recruiting System, Front Rush; Corresponds with high school coaches in and out o state; Assists in coordinating and implementing prospect recruiting visits; and has the ability to recruit before and after holidays.
  • Coaching: Responsible for practice preparation, proving instruction and motivation during practice; Administers individual and group workouts in pre and post season; Assists with the development of the strength and conditioning program for student athletes as well as coordinating strength groups with players around academic schedules.
  • Assist with academic advising and monitoring academic progress of student athletes: Assists student athletes with the Financial Aid Process and supports the academic development and graduation of student athletes.
  • Scout Basketball Opponents: Responsible for scouting all opponents; Analyzing scouting reports with the Head Coach and staff; Assisting staff in practice preparation based on the scouting report.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
