The assistant coach provides support to the Head Coach in planning all phases of a varsity athletic program during the traditional season.

Essential Functions:

1) Assists the head coach with practice preparation, plans and team supervision.
2) Recruit academically and athletically qualified student-athletes.
3) Conducts and coaches practice sessions during the preseason and primary sport season.
4) Exemplify excellent leadership and proper code of conduct throughout all phases of the competitive season.
5) Work toward the ultimate welfare and safety of the athlete and his/her educational goals.
6) Demonstrate an explicit understanding of all NCAA and conference rules and regulations.
7) Abide by all policies, practices and philosophies of the Intercollegiate Athletic Program and Mount Ida College.
8) Attend home and away contests.
9) Cover all Varsity coaching responsibilities when the Head Coach is absent from such duties.
