Monterey Peninsula College Women’s Basketball focuses on the entire student, empowering student-athlete success on the court, in the classroom, and in our community. As a program, we connect student-athletes with the academic, personal, and athletic resources to help them seek and achieve their personal and professional pathways and goals.  MPC is seeking an assistant coach with a positive, supportive, and energetic approach to mentoring and teaching, and who will utilize these skills to help meet MPC’s program goals.

Assist in the following duties: 

• Daily practice planning and game day management
• Development and Implementation of strength and conditioning program
• Implementation of short term and long term recruiting plan
• Player development through spring and summer
• Monitor student-athletes’ academic progress
• Stat and film management
• Social media and website
• Fundraising

Qualifications 

• Club, high school, and/or college coaching experience preferred
• Sensitivity to diverse backgrounds
• Take and pass CCCAA exam
• Follow all college and CCCAA expectations and rules
• Commitment to the College, athletic, and program mission and ideals
• Ability to follow instructions, problem-solve, and communicate professionally with student-athletes, coaches, and community members

Compensation 

• Stipend during basketball season
• Teaching assignments may be available (for additional compensation) with Masters in Kinesiology or similar disciplines
