McPherson College is seeking an Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach with the proven ability to manage a successful program.  This individual will be responsible for daily management, instruction and administration of all phases of the Women’s Basketball program in accordance with all NAIA and College regulations. This individual is also responsible for specific student/athlete instruction on athletic performance, physical health, and sport team concepts specific to basketball.  Finally, this individual is responsible for providing the instruction and teaching necessary for the student athletes to be successful in their athletic and academic endeavors. This individual collaborates with the Head Women’s Basketball Coach and all coaching staff to ensure a positive student-athlete experience.

Specific areas of responsibility include: instructing on practice, game preparation and strategy; assistant coach and support staff supervision; recruitment of prospective student-athletes; retention of student-athletes, monitoring the academic progress of the Women’s Basketball student athletes; preparation and oversight of budget; community outreach; and  program specific and departmental fundraising.

The successful candidate must possess and will demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills, strong work ethic and self-motivation, the ability and willingness to be a positive role model, department member and representative of the college.

Bachelor’s Degree required, Masters’ preferred; three years of collegiate coaching experience is preferred.   This is a 12 month, full time, exempt, temporary position.  This position is not benefits eligible.  Additionally, this position reports to the Head Women’s Basketball Coach.
