Description:

The Assistant Women’s Basketball coach is responsible for coordinating and overseeing all aspects of the ongoing recruitment of student-athletes for the sport of Women’s basketball at Life University.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Assists the Women’s Head Basketball coach in the following:

  1. All correspondence between coaches, students, and parents in regard to potential visits by athletes to Life University.
  2. Must have a high level of proficiency with regard to using video analysis as a teaching tool.  Oversee all preparation, coding, and feedback with regards to the video analysis approach within the program.
  3. Must possess an outward and energized personality with regard to community and campus events.  High energy individual
  4. Coordinate and supervise off season training regimen and skill development program
  5. Prepare and monitor program budget.
  6. Oversee scholarship distribution to student athletes with a proven history in fiscal responsibility.
  7. Oversee high school recruiting.
  8. Prepare schedule
  9. Coaching & supervising daily practices.
  10. Organize team travel (vehicles/hotels/meals/practices).
  11. Organize and manage successful youth summer camps
  12. Perform team related administrative duties.
  13. Assist with preparing and filing eligibility forms.
  14. Ensure academic compliance within the athletic department policies and procedures.
  15. Monitor class attendance policy.
  16. Plan and execute fundraising initiatives
  17. Maintain & order necessary equipment for the program.
  18. Maintain and update athletic department website information related to your sport.
  19. Coordinate with Sports Information Director to post meet results/stories.
  20. Plan and schedule NAIA Champions of Character activities.
  21. Demonstrated ability to work with peers/fellow coaches within the department in a team environment

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Assumes additional responsibilities and performs special projects as needed or directed.

Education, Training and/or Experience

  1. Bachelor’s degree.
  2. Three to Five years of coaching and recruiting experience.
  3. Ability to demonstrate overall business acumen.
  4. Basic knowledge of the NAIA and/or NCAA rules and regulations.
  5. Ability to interact effectively in a collegial environment.
  6. Proven & successful track record with regards to graduation rate of student-athletes

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Five (5) years of experience in coaching and recruiting for the sport of basketball
  2. Working knowledge and understanding of NAIA/NCAA rules and policies.
  3. Proficient with statistical/scoring software programs.
