This position reports to the Head Women’s Basketball Coach and carries responsibility for all aspects of a competitive Division III women’s basketball program including but not limited to: assisting with planning and executing all practices, game day coaching, recruitment of qualified student-athletes, fundraising activities and adhering to all NCAA, Conference and College rules.  Additional duties will be assigned.

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • At least 50% of time, if not all, will be spent teaching and instructing during practices and games under the supervision of the head coach.   Evening and/or weekend hours expected.

 

  • Enforce departmental policies and team rules as to travel and conduct both on and off the field.

 

  • Maintain liaison with college and athletic administrators, trainers and SID as appropriate for an assistant coach.

 

  • Adherence to all regulations of Haverford College, the Centennial Conference, and the NCAA.  Exercise discretion and judgment in decision making in keeping with College, Conference, and NCAA regulations.

 

  • Assist the head coach in the recruiting of student athletes who meet both the academic and athletic standards of Haverford College.

 

  • Represent Haverford at all times in a professional manner including dealings with officials and opposing coaches.

 

  • Will work under the supervision of the head coach who will be responsible for providing a written evaluation at the end of the season.

 

 

Line of Reports:

The Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach reports directly to the Head Women’s Basketball Coach.

 

Education, Training & Experience:

Preferred: A Bachelor’s degree, 1st Aid/CPR/AED certification, experience working with College Student-athletes
