Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach – Florida A&M University

This role is responsible for assisting in the design, development and implementation processes and/or programs; Supports the goals and objectives of the Women’s Basketball program including academic and athletic success of student-athletes by maintaining the appropriate Academic Progress Rate and producing winning teams; Ensures program is in compliance with NCAA, MEAC, and University rules and regulations and must have the values of being a role model for students and a positive influence in the community.
Adheres to FAMU, National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and Mid-Eastern Conference (MEAC) guidelines, policies, and procedures including all rules and regulations; and possesses abilities to promote Florida A&M University and the Athletic Department to students, parents, faculty, and the general public.
Must be personable, understanding and project a professional image with excellent leadership and communication skills, to include awareness of social media etiquette, and the inclusion of lesbian, bisexual, gay, transgender, and questioning (LGBTQ) student-athletes; assists in the recruitment of qualified student-athletes for FAMU Women’s Basketball Program and areas of concentration will be assigned by the Head Coach.
Handles all travel arrangements for the Women’s Basketball Program including meals and scheduling away practice times.
Responsible for individual skill instruction for guards or post players.
Coordinates and oversees all video exchange, including the MEAC Synergy video exchange.
Responsible for working with academic advisor, monitor classes, and development of assignes student-athletes.
Scouting of assigned opponents.
Coordinates all equipment including designing and purchasing based on the needs of the team.
Perform other duties assigned by Head Coach.
