Eastern University is seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our women’s basketball coaching staff as a Full-Time Assistant Coach. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about basketball and committed to the development and success of student-athletes both on and off the court.

Key Responsibilities:

• Recruitment: Identify and evaluate potential recruits, attend scouting events, coordinate on-campus visits, and lead the relationship-building with PSAs, coaches, and parents. 
• Academic Oversight: Monitor and support the academic progress of student-athletes, ensuring they meet academic eligibility requirements and achieve their educational goals.
• Team Supervision: Assist in managing all aspects of the women’s basketball program, including practice sessions, game strategies, and overall team discipline.
• Scouting: Prepare the team for contests by studying and presenting the opposing team’s identity to the athletes and coaches
• Player Development: Develop and implement training programs to enhance individual and team performance, focusing on skill development, conditioning, and overall player growth.
• Administrative Duties: Assist with the organization and execution of team travel, equipment management, and other administrative tasks as needed.
• Community Service: Assist with community service and team-building activities to promote the women’s basketball program and foster positive relationships within the community.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in coaching basketball, preferably at the collegiate level.
• Strong understanding of the game, including strategies, rules, and regulations.
• College playing experience is preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Reliability, a good work ethic, and punctuality 
• High level of integrity and professionalism.
• Commitment to the academic and athletic development of student-athletes.
