Chicago State University invites applications for the position of Assistant Coach, Women’s Basketball. This position reports to the Head Coach, the Assistant Coach assists in developing a Division 1 competitive Women’s Basketball program.

Job Description

• Assist the head coach in the administration and operation of all aspects of the women’s basketball program.
• Identifies, evaluates and recruits quality student athletes who can excel on and off the court at Chicago State University.
• Support and in coordination with Head Coach in creating an environment, which places importance on

academics, retention and graduation, working with Student Athlete Academic Services and university academic services.

• Assist in coordination of game and practices planning.
• Assist Head Coach with game scheduling, establishing a competitive schedule.
• Assist with fundraising; budget management; summer camps; collaborates with numerous athletic and University units; demonstrates adherence to University, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.

The successful candidate will be involved in additional duties as assigned by the Head Women’s Basketball Coach.

• Works with head coach to foster a program culture that is based on servant leadership
• Support and coordinate with the Head Coach in establishment/enforcement of team rules, community service efforts, etc.; represents the Head Coach at meetings, fund-raising functions, and alumni events;
