Description:

The person in this position will assist the head coach in developing and coordinating a women’s basketball JV program that is highly competitive in Division III while following the standards and guidelines established by Central College, the American Rivers Conference (A-R-C), and NCAA Division III.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist the head coach in:
    • student-athlete skill development and teaching and motivating techniques
    • supervision and development of practice and game sessions; including game planning
    • contacting recruits at the direction of the recruiting coordinator (assistant coach)
  • Attend staff development opportunities and coaches’ meetings.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Sports Specific Responsibilities:

  • Provide program support by:
    • coordinating non-conference film exchange and fulfilling any film requests
    • completing postgame film responsibilities following home games
    • posting postgame film to the appropriate program, i.e. Game Tape Exchange, following home games
    • managing video editing system/game cutups
    • coordinating study tables

 

 


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree, with one to three years of experience coaching preferred. A coaching certificate and/or authorization is desired.
  • Strong communication skills are required.
  • First Aid/CPR/AED certified or ability to obtain certification within six months required
  • Ability to travel; night and weekend work required
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to be insured to drive college vehicles required.
