Buffalo State University, a Division III program and State University of New York Athletic Conference institution, is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach. The Assistant Coach is responsible for assisting the Head Coach in all aspects of the program including, but not limited to, day-to-day operations, coaching, recruiting, scouting, academic support, NCAA compliance and general operations within NCAA rules. Essential Duties and Responsibilities •The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

•Assists the Head Coach in managing and directing the program.

•Assists the Head Coach with all aspects of the program including training, practices, player instruction, game preparation, competing and scheduling.

•Assists in the coordination of travel arrangements.

•Assists in completion and processing of paperwork as requested.

•Assists with recruiting including calling prospective student-athletes, evaluating high school and junior college players, and maintaining accurate records and databases on the NCAA Compliance Assistant program.

•Works cooperatively with personnel in the athletic department, attends department meetings and activities, and always represents the University in a positive manner when interacting with the community, alumni, coaches, the media and the general public.

•Responsible for knowing, understanding, and abiding by Buffalo State University policy and procedure and NCAA III compliance legislation and conference rules.

•Performs other duties as assigned by the Head Coach and the Vice President for Athletics/Athletic Director.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree required.

Work Experience:

Prior experience playing or coaching basketball at the collegiate level. Other significant experience relative to coaching basketball and/or the administration of an intercollegiate athletics program can be considered.
