Alvernia University, located in Reading, Pennsylvania, is accepting applications for the full-time position of Head Women’s Basketball Coach.

The Head Women’s Basketball Coach is responsible for managing all aspects of a competitive NCAA Division III Women’s Basketball program including, but not limited to, recruitment and retention of academically and athletically qualified student-athletes and preparing student-athletes for success through practice planning, strategy development, and skill instruction.

The Head Coach will also be responsible for tracking their student-athlete’s academic progress, maintaining appropriate records and paperwork, and ensuring compliance with all university, Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC), and NCAA policies, rules, and regulations. Additional administrative duties (i.e. event management) will be assigned based upon the experience and expertise of the successful candidate and the needs of the Department of Athletics & Recreation.

A Bachelor’s degree and successful experience as a student-athlete and/or coach is required. Master’s degree and college head coaching experience is desired.

The successful candidate will display a record of accomplishment “on the field” as well as “off the field” having served as a mentor and coach to successful student-athletes.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate and be able to communicate a commitment to the mission and core values and goals of Alvernia University. Strong organizational, supervisory, and team-building capabilities are required.
