Bachelor’s degree in a related field; experience in recruiting and coaching intercollegiate women’s basketball players, knowledge of NCAA Division Level I and SWAC rules and regulations.

Purpose of Job

To assist with managing a competitive Division I Women’s basketball program that adheres to all university, SWAC, and NCAA rules and regulations while providing a safe and accepting environment for student-athletes to grow and develop academically, athletically and one which encourages personal responsibility, sportsmanship and service to others.

Scope of Responsibilities

The Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach will assist with developing a responsible program by helping to planning, coach, recruit, manage and direct the Women’s Basketball program.

Essential Job Functions

•          Assist with managing and directing the women’s basketball program
•          Assist with managing all aspects of the team including strength and conditioning, practicing, competing and scheduling.
•          Assist with manage all operational, fiscal, and administrative activities for the program
•          Assist with evaluating and recruiting qualified student-athletes
•          Assist with monitoring class schedules, grades and student-athletes academic progress
•          Responsible for women’s basketball student-athlete retention
•          Responsible for developing and promoting the women’s basketball program
