Description:
The Assistant Director of Student-Athlete Development and Video Operations is the primary contact for all elements of a student athlete’s academic, social, athletic, and emotional welfare. This position reports directly to the Head Coach providing daily updates on the progress of the student-athletes daily life. The Assistant Director manages the video department for Women’s Basketball and coordinates all of the NCAA Compliance work for the program. The Assistant Director coordinates team managers, practice players, practice/game set up, and monitors facility upkeep. This position will oversee the women’s basketball mentor program along with organizing community service projects.
The Assistant Director of Student-Athlete Development and Video Operations will serve as the liaison for the Women’s basketball program and the departmental marketing department. This position will communicate with the student-athletes on academic issues and update coaching and academic staff on pertinent information. This position also ensures that collaborative and constructive relationships are maintained with university partners, with respect to academic and compliance, student support, financial aid, facilities and game day operations to insure optimal outcomes for student-athletes.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proven organizational, management and leadership skills, including the ability to manage a team to achieve specific outcomes.
  • Skilled in video creating and editing. Efficient with Synergy system.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to interact with individuals at all levels in the department as well as in the university and university community.
  • Must be a self-starter, intrinsically motivated.
  • Must be able to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives and projects.
  • Ability to develop metrics to appropriately measure progress.
  • Ability to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets and social media.
  • Availability to work flexible work schedule, including nights and weekends.
  • Ability to travel with sport teams for away contests.
  • Thorough knowledge of NCAA and American Conference rules and regulations.

Required Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree with two (2) years of relevant experience
OR
  • High School Diploma with eight (8) years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basketball coaching or playing experience.
  • Knowledge of NCAA Division I Guidelines
