Serve as Assistant Varsity Coach of Women’s Basketball: assist with the development of recruiting plans in consultation with the Head Coach; following consultation with the Academic Affairs Advisor, identify and recommend prospective student-athletes and recruiting visits to the Head Coach; actively recruit and evaluate prospects; conduct recruitment visits; conduct recruitment competition evaluations and in-person visits to home, school, showcase camps and club competitions as per NCAA Division III (National Collegiate Athletics Division III) and UAA (University Athletics Association) regulations; assess prospective student-athletes skills/abilities and prepare written evaluations of prospective student-athletes for Head Coach’s review. In consultation with the Head coach, assist with the development of practice plans, strategies for upcoming contests, and player skills and conditioning programs. Develop and execute a segment(s) of each practice including presenting scouting reports on upcoming opponents; presenting a new defensive or offensive scheme; demonstrating or conducting player position drills and training. Assess strengths and weaknesses of NYU student-athletes and the athletes on opposing teams and develop strategies and tactics to assist the Head Coach in planning game strategy.
