The Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach will be responsible for carrying out duties assigned by the Head Coach or the Director of Athletics. These responsibilities are targeted towards the spiritual, academic, and athletic growth and wellness of the student-athletes. The Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach will be responsible to maintain compliance with all Montreat College, Appalachian Athletic Conference, and NAIA rules and regulations.
C. Accountability
The Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach is accountable to the Women’s Basketball Head Coach and the Director of Athletics.
D. Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution is required; Extra consideration will given to candidates with successful recruiting and college coaching experience.

G. Duties
1. Oversee the successful recruiting efforts for the women’s basketball program; recruiting student athletes for the athletic team who will represent the mission of Montreat College.
2. Scheduling of workouts and ensure that workouts do not conflict with the academic schedule, examination schedule, and regularly scheduled chapel and convocation services.
3. Attend all departmental meetings when asked to do so.
4. Be familiar with and adhere to departmental policies and procedures as well as NAIA and AAC regulations.
5. Participate in the college and departmental planning process by assisting in the formulation of goals, objectives, and outcomes.
6. Participate in college activities, which include Discovery Days, orientation and registration.
7. Develop and maintain a work schedule (office hours) centered on student-athletes accessibility.
8. Be responsible for the conduct of athletes, both on and off the playing field.
9. Be budget conscious when performing duties for the program.
10. Actively participate with all athletic fund raising programs.
11. Communicate the needs and maintenance of facilities and equipment to the Head Coach.
12. Shall be responsible for providing statistical information to the Conference SID and Montreat College SID in a timely fashion.
13. Organizes and conducts practice sessions.
14. Lead the team with at least two service projects per academic year to reach out to the community in servant-leadership.
15. Break down film for both opponents and Montreat College.
16. Produce effective and accurate scouting reports.
17. Develop a system to properly exchange film with opponents.
18. Work with game ay management to ensure a successful game day environment.
19. Successfully develop workouts to improve the strength, conditioning, and skills of the student-athletes.
20. Other duties as assigned.
