| Description: | The Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach Intern reports to the Women’s Basketball Head Coach and will have the secondary duty of assisting with intramurals, outside of the basketball season. The intern will be responsible to assist the head coach in all aspects of the program, including: recruit qualified student-athletes; scout opponents, breakdown video, assist in practice sessions and in-game duties; counsel student-athletes in a positive manner; and adhere to all NCAA, conference and university rules and regulations. The position is for one year, with the possibility of reappointment up to a total of three years.
Specific Responsibilities:
• Identifying and recruiting quality student athletes in concert with the academic mission of the University.
• Assist in developing and maintaining positive team culture and chemistry. • Mentoring and counseling student-athletes. • Assisting in planning and conducting practices. • Assisting in scouting opponents and developing game strategies. • Assisting in travel planning and making travel arrangements • Fundraising and community service activities. • Developing a comprehensive and functional knowledge of the sport. • Developing and maintaining a thorough and continuing familiarity with all applicable University, Landmark Conference, and NCAA regulations. • Represent the WBB Program, River Hawk Athletics, and Susquehanna University in a positive and professional manner. • Game day responsibilities. • Outside of season game management responsibilities.
