To perform this job successfully, an individual must have:
* Knowledge of and compliance with National Collegiate Athletic Association, Division 1 rules and regulations
* Knowledge of basketball fundamentals, position detail and strategies
* Knowledge of budgeting process and basic Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Etc.)
* Knowledge of team travel
* Knowledge of time management
* Sound organization and technical skills
* Knowledge of fundamental basketball equipment needs and ability to order equipment
* Skills in video taping and the use of such equipment
* Ability to teach basketball during preparation and practice sessions
* Ability to motivate team players through effective and appropriate interaction with diverse population, University Community and the public
* Ability to scout opponents and travel for recruiting student athletes
* Ability to drive student athletes or other students to team activities and/or athletic events
* Ability to communicate effectively
* Ability to coordinate summer camps
