Coaches practices and workouts, assists in preparing game plans and works with assigned student athletes, serving as Assistant WBB Coach. Develops a comprehensive knowledge of the sport and of University, ACC and NCAA rules. Ensures athletes’ compliance. Collaborates with Athletic Academic Services and monitors student-athletes’ academic progress. Participates in public relations.

Assistant WBB Coach – All Duties are Essential

Skills Coaching: – 35%
Coaches practice sessions and workouts. Attends Coaches’ preparatory meetings and assists in setting up practice and game plans. Implements strategies with assigned student athletes. Maintains knowledge of WBB strategies and skills. Assists with coaching during athletic events.

Professional Development and Compliance: – 30%
Develops a comprehensive knowledge of WBB rules and regulations. Stays abreast of all University, ACC and NCAA rules. Engages in continuing education with the Compliance Office. Ensures that student-athletes adhere to rules and regulations concerning conduct, appearance and behavior.

Academics Monitoring; – 15%
Collaborates with athletic Academic Service. Monitors academic progress of student-athletes, enforcing all academic policies. Collaborates with Director of Vickery Hall to refer athletes to academic resources.

Public Relations: – 10%
Participates in University public relations efforts. Assists with verbal and written communications efforts and performs public speaking.

Administrative Support: – 10%
Manages team travel arrangements, such as pre-game meals, accommodations and practice times. Serves as tournament director. Manages special events, including parents’ and alumni weekends. Keeps records up-to-date.
