Description:

Lake Region State College (LRSC) is seeking applicants for a Head Women’s Basketball Coach. LRSC basketball competes at the NJCAA Division I level and is a member of the Mon-Dak Conference. Major responsibilities for this position include demonstrating competency in sport skill instruction, conducting practice sessions, managing the program’s budget, and conducting extensive recruiting. A sincere interest in the personal, academic, and athletic progress of student-athletes is required.

The Assistant Athletic Director will also serve as a key staff member in the athletic administrative team helping further the goals of the athletic department in a manner consistent with the vision of the administration of LRSC. Responsibilities include serve as the on-site manager for all home athletic events; train, and manage game day student staff; assist with facility setup for games and practices; partner with visiting student-athletes and coaches to ensure two-way communication; keep official statistics at all home athletic events, compile and record cumulative individual and team statistics, and provide regular reports as required by conference offices; and assist with coordination of travel, meals, uniforms, equipment, etc. for away games; organize and inventory uniforms and equipment.

The successful candidate will also demonstrate leadership ability and professional behavior when dealing with student-athletes, college staff and the public. Dependent on an applicant’s education and experience, there is the potential to have this position paired with additional campus duties to create full-time 12-month employment.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to build and maintain working relationships with college students. Ability to travel and work a varied schedule. Playing and/or coaching experience preferred.
