Description: | Assistant Athletic Director: Ensure compliance with Gender Equity: Serve as Senior Woman Administrator and ensure gender equity in competitive sports program at GSU. This includes planning education events and reporting as required by DOE, IBHE, HLC and NAIA. Participate as active member of Advocating for Sexual Assault Prevention (ASAP). Foster academic excellence of GSU Scholar Athletes: Conduct Academic Monitoring of all student athletes and coordinate early alert program. Service as Athletics Liaison to Academic Advisors and Academic Resource Center to ensure academic excellence in our student athletes. Communicate regularly with faculty about student athlete commitments and course participation, celebrate student achievement and address performance issues. Maintain AD Honor Roll each semester, and disseminate in coordination with SID. Community Building and Leadership Development of Student Athletes: Coordinate all Student-Athlete meeting each semester, and coordinate annual Athletics Banquet. Design, coordinate, implement, and assess programs and activities designed to promote NAIA Champions of Character core values. In partnership with Dean of Student’s Office, promote community standards and ensure student athlete remain in good community standing. In collaboration with the GSU Center for Civic Engagement and Community Service coordinate community service projects for each team. Head Women’s Basketball Coach: The Head Women’s Basketball Coach is responsible for the overall management of the Women’s Basketball program, including practice planning, recruitment, player development, supervision of assistant coach(es), fundraising, game scheduling, and implementing game strategy. The Women’s Basketball Coach is responsible for the recruitment, supervision and coaching of National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) student-athletes, under the guidelines of the University, Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) and NAIA policies and procedures. This position is guided by the function of the Department, (ability to work nights and weekends as necessary), the request of Dean of Students, the approved position description, and overall university work policies and procedures. Evaluation of the employee is on an annual basis, using the Annual Employee Performance Evaluation form. The employee will report directly to the Athletic Director and maintain regular communication. The Director will assign duties verbally and/or by written instruction per the approved position description. |
