University of Delaware head coach Natasha Adair excitedly announced Wednesday the promotion of Sarah Jenkins to associate head coach.
Jenkins, who is entering her fourth season with the Blue Hens, was named earlier this year as a Top 50 Division I Women’s Basketball Assistant by Silver Waves Media.
“I am extremely grateful to Coach Adair and the entire University of Delaware administration for trusting and believing in me,” Jenkins stated. “There is more work to be done and I’m excited to move forward and continue to advance the vision of Blue Hens Athletics and the women’s basketball program.”
The Bowie, Md. native is the program’s recruiting coordinator and primarily works with the team’s perimeter players.
“It brings me great joy to promote Sarah to associate head coach,” commented Adair. “She is vital to our program and family. I have had the pleasure of watching her as a player and now as a coach. Sarah brings the same passion, knowledge, competitiveness and winning spirit to work every day. She is a tireless worker and life learner! Her drive is contagious throughout our program and department. Sarah has earned this opportunity. I’m excited for her and our continued growth!”
Jenkins joined the coaching ranks immediately after graduating from Georgetown University in 2005 and spent more than eight years coaching high school basketball before taking an assistant coaching position at her alma mater in 2014 under Adair’s tutelage.
