IUPUI Hires Assistant Coach

The IUPUI Athletic Department and women’s basketball head coach Austin Parkinson has announced the hiring of DeAirra Goss as an assistant coach for the 2018-19 season, effective immediately. Goss spent the last two seasons as the director of basketball operations for the Jaguars.

“We are thrilled to announce DeAirra will be moving into an assistant coaching role,” said Parkinson. “Being able to have one of the best players of all time at IUPUI as well as someone who played for me will be a tremendous asset for our program. Her work ethic, competitive spirit and knowledge of our system will be a valuable resource for our ladies.”

“I am very excited about the opportunity to officially join the coaching staff at IUPUI,” said Goss. “As a former player of the Coach Parkinson, I am looking forward to giving back to the program that impacted my collegiate career. I am also excited for the opportunity to help these young women grow both on and off the court.

Goss played for IUPUI from 2012-2014 after beginning her career at Western Michigan. The Indianapolis native was named Second-Team All-Summit League and to the Summit League All-Newcomer Team as redshirt junior.

As a senior, Goss was named First-Team All-Summit League and to the Summit League All-Tournament Team. Goss was also a three-time Summit League Player of the Week while leading IUPUI in scoring with 15.0 ppg.

“Growing up in Indianapolis, attending both Ben Davis High School and IUPUI, gives her an excellent appreciation for this great city and university,” said Parkinson.
