Tom McConnell has been named the 10th head coach in the history of the IUP women’s basketball program. The hiring was announced at an introductory press conference by IUP Director of Athletics, Dr. Frank Condino, on Tuesday morning at the Kovalchick Complex.
McConnell comes to the Crimson Hawks after spending the last two seasons as an assistant coach at Old Dominion University, which competes in the NCAA Division I Colonial Athletic Association (CAA). He worked closely with ODU Head Coach Karen Barefoot in game planning and player development, while also serving as the academic liaison and was heavily involved with camps.
