Ithaca Alum Devin Shea Joins Bombers Staff

Head Coach Dan Raymond of the Ithaca College women’s basketball team has announced that Devin Shea ’13 will return to Ithaca as his top assistant for the upcoming 2015-16 season.

Shea, a four-year standout for Ithaca from 2009-13 and a captain during her senior year, recently coached at St. Lawrence for two seasons. She helped the Saints compile an overall record of 39-15 and two Liberty League regular season titles. This past winter, St. Lawrence earned Player and Defensive Player of the Year in the Liberty League. In 2014, Shea was part of the Liberty League’s Coaching Staff of the Year.

As a student-athlete for the Bombers, Shea amassed 886 points and 491 rebounds in 106 career games and was a two-time all-conference performer. She also tallied 144 steals, 125 blocks and shot 45.1-percent from the floor. Ithaca won four regular season Empire 8 Conference champions from 2009-13 and played in the NCAA Division III Tournament three times, reaching the Round of 16 in 2012-13.

She earned a degree in therapeutic recreation with a concentration in coaching from Ithaca, and just recently obtained a master’s degree from St. Lawrence in educational leadership this past May. Shea also received recognition from the New York Omicron Athlete Honor Society and the Rho Phi Lambda Honors Fraternity.
