Lamar University women’s basketball coach Larry Tidwell has hired former Southeast Missouri coach John Ishee to be an assistant coach for the Lady Cardinals.
Ishee posted a 77-74 record in five seasons at Southeast Missouri, earning Ohio Valley Conference Coach of the Year honors in 2007 after leading the Redhawks to a 24-8 record and a spot in the NCAA Tournament. The following season, the Redhawks were 23-9 and qualified for the WNIT.
Ishee, who spent last season as a talent evaluator for BlueStar Basketball, has coached for more than 20 years at the collegiate level. He has been a head coach at Life University and New Mexico Highlands, and has been an assistant at New Mexico State, Saint Louis University, Southern Mississippi, Mississippi, Pacific and McNeese State.
