INTERIM TAG REMOVED: Gibson named Women’s Basketball Head Coach at Hawai’i Pacific

Hawai’i Pacific University has officially named Brent Gibson as the new Head Coach of the HPU Women’s Basketball program. After serving as the Interim Associate Head Coach, Gibson now becomes the seventh head coach in program history, bringing a well-rounded background in coaching, education, and leadership to the role.

Gibson stepped into the interim position with a steady hand and a clear vision, quickly earning the trust of student-athletes and staff alike. His promotion reflects not only his basketball acumen but also his commitment to building a program grounded in discipline, academic success, and personal growth.

With head coaching experience at Madisonville-North Hopkins High School (KY), Deer High School (AR), and Palm Beach Atlantic University (FL), Gibson has led programs at multiple levels and earned accolades along the way. He was named 1A West Coach of the Year at Deer and a two-time 2nd Region Coach of the Year at Madisonville-North Hopkins. His time as an assistant coach at James B.
