Newly appointed Columbia women’s basketball head coach Megan Griffith has announced the addition of Will Ingersoll as an assistant coach for the upcoming 2016-17 season.
“I am thrilled about Will joining our staff here at Columbia,” said Griffith. “I have always had a great respect for him in this business and feel fortunate that he has joined our family. He already has made an immediate impact due to his working knowledge of the national recruiting landscape and proven commitment to being fully bought in to our program. He has one of the best work ethics in the game. I know we will achieve great things together and am looking forward to our future.”
Ingersoll joins the Columbia staff after serving as an assistant coach at Sacred Heart University since 2013. In his three seasons with the Pioneers, Ingersoll served as the team’s defensive coordinator, academic liaison and recruiting coordinator and helped develop All-NEC players such as Alissa Tarsi (’16), Hannah Kimmel (’14, ’15, ‘16), Gabrielle Washington (’14) and Adaysha Williams (’14).
Prior to working at Sacred Heart, Ingersoll spent five seasons working at his Alma Mater, The College of William & Mary, where he spent two years as the Director of Basketball Operations (2008-10) and three years as an assistant coach in charge of player development and recruiting.
Ingersoll graduated from William & Mary with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance in May 2008 before achieving his MBA in Marketing in May 2010.
